For the semester, I'm living in an area called Nimbusparken; in addition to the college students living in the dorms, the surrounding buildings are home to other Frederiksberg residents. Frederiksberg is a separate kommune than Copenhagen, so it's an independent municipality. At Nimbusparken, I live in Building 34, on floor 2.
Fun Fact: In many European countries, the ground floor is Level 0, so even though I live on floor 2, it's technically the 3rd level!
Each student gets their own bedroom and private bathroom. Mailboxes are located bv the entrance on the ground floor, and laundry facilities are in the basement of Building 36. Building 34 has storage space for each resident in the basement, perfect for keeping your suitcases! Kitchens are shared between 10 residents, with each resident getting their own drawer to keep snacks/ingredients. There are 2 fridges, 2 cooktops, 1 dishwasher and 1 oven. Everyone has to work together to keep the common areas clean! But, sharing a kitchen is an easy way to meet your dormmates. Here's some pictures of the building, rooms, and common space:
Residents are responsible for taking out the trash from the kitchen; there is a garbage disposal area located behind the building. In Denmark, there are certain rules for sorting waste; it's important to be environmentally conscious! These are the different categories for sorting waste/recycling:
Nimbusparken is close to 2 grocery stores (Rema 1000 and Netto) and is approximately 15 minutes away (walking) from Solbjerg Plads, the main CBS building. Overall, it's very convenient, and it's nice being able to save some money by not using the metro; Copenhagen is a pretty expensive city!
